Megan Thee Stallion Nailed the Hair Tinsel Trend a Second Time – See Photos

Megan Thee Stallion cannot hide the fact that she’s absolutely in love with hair tinsel. On February 8, the rapper took to Instagram to share some photos of herself wearing a green wig interspersed with the sparkly hair accessory. Come two days later – February 10 – she posted seven more photos of herself on the app wearing the on-trend hair adornment… but with a different twist.

Meg’s new hair tinsel edit shows the rapper wearing an extra-long wig of dark hair that could easily compete with the length of Rapunzel’s fabled mane. The strands of hair tinsel that decorate her hair appear to come in a variety of colors, including purple, blue, and gold. 

In addition to giving us a closeup of her colorful hair tinsel, the rapper also showed off a new manicure in the sixth and seventh photos of her Instagram carousel. Her latest set features cherries placed against a black background. 

The rapper’s hair tinsel is very much in alignment with the times. TikTok users such as Jillian Rhae Maxwell have given the shimmery hair accessory a try in recent months along with celebrities like Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, and Ava Max.

You can master the hair tinsel trend on your own or with the help of a hairstylist. New Orleans-based hairstylist Ashley Armour previously told Allure that she uses two methods to add tinsel to one’s hair. The first technique simply involves tying the metallic accessory to an individual strand of hair, while the other uses a microbead extension, “which is 20 strands of tinsel in one bead,” she explained. Based on Armour’s experience, she says that hair tinsel usually has a longevity period between one week to six months.
