They both wore black gowns for the 2022 Academy Awards Ceremony, but when it came to nails Laverne Cox and Maddie Ziegler went their separate ways-except for the brand. Both chose OPI.

For Cox, host of E! Oscars Red Carpet, celebrity nail artist Eri Ishizu created a captivating crystal manicure using OPI GelColor Black Onyx. Thuy Nguyen created actor Maddie Ziegler’s nails look with OPI GelColor We The Female.

How-to Steps

  1. Apply a coat of OPI GelColor Stay Classic Base Coat. 

  2. Next, apply two coats of OPI GelColor in Black Onyx.

  3. Glue on 2 rows of crystals following a crescent pattern.

  4. Apply OPI GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat to seal in the crystals and add a smooth shine to the manicure.
